Taking A Stance Against Plastic Straws

If you haven’t heard, there have been massive developments in the fight against plastic straws recently. With 28,218 stores worldwide, Starbucks is one of the world’s largest fast food chains, and they just promised to phase out plastic straws by 2020! Of course, this is great news for the amount of straws that will be saved at Starbucks alone. Not to mention, it’s helping to draw attention to the issue of plastic straws in all sorts of circumstances.

How Do We Handle The Issue?

While banning plastic straws is a fantastic move, having a straw for cold drinks is somewhat ingrained in our society. Paper straws are an alternative, but they tend to foster many complaints, considering they break down extremely easily. That’s why we love our biodegradable straws!

With all of the benefits of a plastic straw minus the harm to the environment, our biodegradable straws are made from PLA, a plant-based material with 67% less embodied carbon than oil-based PP plastic. Meanwhile, our white promotional straws are made from Ecovio, a compostable plant-based material with great properties.
