Sow Easy® have been growing in the gardening and seed-based promotions market since 1983.

We manufacture a range of innovative sustainable gardening promotional products including promotional plants, branded plant pots and custom-printed seed packets. Corporate gifts & giveaways that will reduce the ecological footprint of any business!

Seedsticks® are our most popular product – born from the 1940’s matchbook idea, each matchstick in the custom-printed matchbook book contains a seed. Just pop in soil to grow a matchstick garden!

We provide fast and effective solutions for brand agencies, wholesalers and distributors. We can supply many varieties of flower, fruit and vegetable and tree seeds. All of our products are custom-printed to order with company logo and client branding.

We always try and come back to you with prices and samples within 48 hours of the initial enquiry. Production turnaround time is usually 3-4 weeks. Our Express Service delivery option is also available on our Essentials Range for those time products are needed in a hurry. We prefer to work closely with our trade clients, including marketing/branding agencies, wholesalers, distributors and brands.

Unlike many suppliers, we manufacture and assemble most of our own products here in the UK, on unique machinery designed and developed in-house.

THE ENVIRONMENT

SOW EASY® HAVE BEEN A MEMBER OF THE BPMA FOR OVER 25 YEARS.

As Licensed Seed Handlers accredited by FERA we conform to strict regulations regarding seed purity and germination rates.

We aim for all our materials to be eco-friendly. To make our printing carbon neutral, we support the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the PEFC. Our printers are certified to ISO14001. We adhere to guidelines on environmental issues such as air pollution, water, waste management and efficient use of resources.

Our Seedsticks® are made from FSC approved card. This means that all virgin material used is replaced by fast growing trees in managed forests. The cover is made from recycled paper. If a client specifically asks for a product made from 100% recycled materials – we can provide this but it may attract additional cost, which we will discuss with you.

Sow Easy has also contributed to a certified 49 tonnes of CO2 reduction with our support of Ecologi. Their carbon reduction projects include capturing methane to reduce emissions and generate energy in India.

We have supplied many brands known for their eco friendly credentials including The Rainforest Foundation, John Lewis, the BBC and Innocent.

FAQS

ARE SOW EASY® PRODUCTS ECO FRIENDLY?

All our materials are eco-friendly and that is important to us. The very act of growing a plant is adding to the planet’s oxygen supplies, so we make sure that our packaging and processes support that too. All our printing uses soy and vegetable ink. To make our printing carbon neutral, we support the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC). Our printers are certified to ISO14001 environmental management standards. This requires that we consider environmental issues such as air pollution, water, waste management, climate change mitigation and efficient use of resources.

ARE SOW EASY® PRODUCTS EASY TO STORE?

Most of our seeds have a shelf life of two years, but you do need to keep them in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight.

WHAT TYPES OF SEEDS ARE AVAILABLE?

We can supply a wide range of seeds including herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruits and trees. The only restrictions are size, and occasionally cost and availability. Some of our customers’ favourites are: basil, mint, thyme, forget-me-nots, poppies, wildflowers, tomatoes, chillies, alpine strawberries and mixed herbs. If there is something else you fancy, let us know and we should be able to supply it (as long as it is legal!). If you can’t decide – just ask. We can make recommendations based on the season, germination times and the type of product you’re planning.

CAN SEED PRODUCTS BE EXPORTED FROM THE UK?

If you know you’re taking our products abroad, the best thing might be for us to despatch them straight there for you. If the seeds are going outside the EU, they need a “phytosanitary” certificate. This means they have been inspected and conform to the plant health regulations of the importing country. This will involve additional charges and we can advise when quoting. If you plan to take them yourself, let us know and we can discuss that with you. Sending to the EU is easy.

CAN YOU DO BESPOKE SHAPES?

We regularly make Seedstick™ packets in bespoke shapes. These have included telephones, houses, buses and bookmarks. Talk to us and we will do our best to bring your ideas to life.

CAN YOU HELP WITH ARTWORK?

We can help with artwork either by sending you a template for your designer, or we can supply full artworking services at additional cost if required.

WHAT ARE THE LEAD TIMES ON SOW EASY® PRODUCTS?

Production times will vary depending on what you are ordering, and the quantity. On average, an order takes 2-3 weeks once we have all your artwork. We’ll give you a more accurate estimate when you place your order – and if you need something faster, do ask and we will do what we can.

Our Express Service delivery option is also available with a delivery time of 2-3 days on our Essentials Range for those time products are needed in a hurry.

WHAT IS THE SIGN OFF PROCESS?

When your artwork is ready, we will provide you with a sign-off sheet for approval. This will include your finalised artwork and other details of your order. Once we have your approval, we can get your products made.

WHAT IS YOUR MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY

Minimum order quantities vary slightly by product. For Seedsticks, Seeded Paper and the majority of Seed Packets, we start at 100. Ask us for other products.

HOW MUCH WILL MY PRODUCTS COST?

The best thing is to get in touch to request a quote. We will get back to you quickly and think you will be surprised at how cost effective our eco-friendly products can be compared to many other promotional items. There is a £35 set up fee for all orders and quotes do not include delivery and VAT. Once we know where we are shipping the product, we can quote for that part too.

CAN I SEE SOME SAMPLES TO LOOK AT FIRST?

Yes, we can provide some free samples to help you make up your mind. Get in touch with us and we can arrange that for you.

WHAT ARE YOUR PAYMENT TERMS?

For all new clients, we will request proforma terms. Otherwise 50% in advance and the balance payable within 30 days.

‘Seed-sticks’ developed from a merger of Wilkinson Sword and Bryant & May from the dying match business
1978
Prototype machines moved from the notorious Bow Match factory to Steel Road, Acton

The product renamed ’Seedsticks®’ and a patent granted to protect the tab design that holds the seed in place

Steve Gray appointed project leader after several hundreds of thousands of pounds spent on development without a route to market or machinery to manufacture
